Grandaughter's Amusement

I went shopping for my Grandaughter's birthday today. She'll be 8 on the 28th. I was talking to her on the phone, asking what she wanted for her birthday. She talks nonstop, and is very dramatic and absolutely charming. She's rattling off all these things she'd just LOVE to have....and then finally at the end, she says, "Or just whatever you think would amuse me"  Haha, that's my goal every day is finding things to amuse me. I got her books (of course) a pair of pink pants, a white shirt, a bunch of accessory/jewlery/hair type stuff and Lipsmackers. She loves everything. American Girl anything is her favorite, but I could send her a new box of crayons and she'd be ecstatic. I love that quality in a child. In anyone for that matter.

I'd like to know how you organize your digital photos. There are so many programs, I'm not sure what's best, and mine are getting out of hand. Hope you are all having a good evening.     Jan

  1. Who wouldn\'t love a new box of crayons?
I use a kodak program but I have nothing to compare it with, so....

  3. Oh how I would love to hug your granddaughter! Give her one for me.
I put my photos in folders under My Pictures in  My Documents by subject. Then periodically download them to CD and store them that way to get the ones I am not using the most off the computer.

  4. Oh Jan, isn\'t it wonderful to have a 8 year old grand-daughter?  I love the age and she sounds wonderful.I had two grandkids to have a birthday this month one was 10 and the other Turned 18 today, and I gave him cash, Who knows what to buy a 18 year old boy these days? LOL  Like Jane I store my pictures under this Kodak program, but I\'m sure we should not keep them all on the computer. I know this from experience, I had some on my hubbys computer and it went crazy and he formatted his hard drive and Lord I about had a heart attack, I lost all my vegas pictures, some of my pictures when I went to China. I was so upset with him, but now I burn them to a CD.  Oh well live and learn. So what I\'m saying is have them in two places!!! Have a great week-end. Pat

  5. we organize our pics for one year on the computer using the "My Pictures"  on windows XP by event (example: Main folder "Hawaii" and a sub folder for each day or special place).  We also save to an external hard drive.  So every picture lives in 2 places.  At the end of the year, we make one folder for the year and send it to the external hard drive.  yea, we\'re a little crazy, but we own a photography business so it\'s just habit to back up everything.

btw....thanks for the nice message,  i\'m glad you enjoyed your visit to my site.  =D

  6. Ok, Jan, bear with me -- I\'m playing catch up on 3-4 of your blogs and writing the whole thing in this comment.
On the IQ thing, see? I TOLD you that you were brilliant!  Best explanation I ever saw about IQs.  I went to a Mensa meeting, too, and that\'s exactly the same way it went...recipes, tv shows, clothes, all the regular stuff that you hear everyday.
On the Bishons...I could just eat them up!  I love that breed. Pat is sooo lucky to have them. Wish she lived closer to me so I could go play with them.
On your granddaughter\'s BD.  Awww, that was so touching. She\'s got to be super smart just like her G-mother with that "amuse" word at 8 yrs old.  But what\'s the best is her happiness and enthusiam with EVERYTHING. Now that\'s joyful and makes me happy just reading it.  What a little sweetheart!

  7. Glad you stopped by.....No I haven\'t been blogging lately but I think I will start up again next week.  Just needed to take some time off.  I also live in East Tennessee around the Townsend area next to the Smokies.  My best friend, Eleanor (who lives in Nashville now) is from Kingsport.

Your Bishons are adorable.  I have two yorkies, Josee Nelle and Sadee Belle, and a beagle, Daisee Doo.  I love my babies.......since I have no children, they are my babies. :)  I need to take new pics of them to put on my space.

I organize my pics in folders under My Pictures...not really up-to-date on how to do it any other way yet.  Give your granddaughter a birthday hug.  They are so cute at that age........and also a belated Happy Birthday to you, also.   Glad to meet you my new friend................Patty :)
