Money or Not?

Why are some people in our country poor and some rich, and some in the middle? What makes the biggest difference?  Attitude?  Background?  Family?  Education?  IQ?  Ambition?  Luck?  Values?

Of course there's not an easy answer, but I'd like to hear your ideas/opinions on it. K?  lol....

  1. That is an interesting question. I can see all of the factors you list and others as contributing. What makes one Uber-Rich? The luck of being born into a very rich family, IQ, background, greed, and lack of conscience. Successful middle class? Ambition, IQ, probably education in a specific area of work, and an element of luck. The poor? Lack of sufficient education, possibly lower IQ or other impairment, suppressed motivation (because the prize is too far away to believe,) values, and class barriers. In all three examples, I believe that there is also a "who you know" element. This is far from a complete answer, but I believe I\'m falling asleep.Peace, Doc

  2. In my case, I\'m not even sure if I fall in the middle! I\'ve worked hard all my life. My parents instilled that. While I went to college for a while, my head was up my butt and I didn\'t do well. There wasn\'t a passion for what I wanted to do. It was about what pleased my Mother. But that wasn\'t \'me\' so it didn\'t work. Had I been \'blessed\' to have had old money or at least one generation old money, I\'m sure life would have been/could have been different. But I wouldn\'t change what I have for nothing in the world. Hugs,Susan

  4. I think "Cynical Psychologist" makes a lot of sense. Also it helps a lot to have someone to encourage and praise you for the good things you do as well as having a role model for you to emulate.

  5. If you are born either into rich or poor or middle class you will remain as your family\'s status. But the motivation, will and determination confidence and allot of networking and education you can go higher. You have to be willing in all aspects to work hard learning and hands on. To most it\'s too much work or hard or they just don\'t have what it takes - a well rounded everything!
